Our
farm has been around, it seems, forever. In the early eighties
the decision was taken to turn to the production of organic
meat, with certifications nationally recognised like
AIAB-ICEA, and our local butchery where we sell the self-grown
beef.
Our
farm counts two main parts, altogether 80 hectares.
First one and bigger is situated in Accumoli (Province of Rieti,
in the Lazio Region). It is here where our cattle graze in green
high altitude pastures, and where they are stabled; we also have
our butchery, the labs, and different huts.
Second just for name is situated in Monsampolo del Tronto
(Province of Ascoli Piceno, in the Marche Region). That’s where
we produce organically food for the cattle, when in winter it is
in the stable.
Most the work is done by Guido, a young and multitasking guy.
His parents Roberto and Rossana help him and the rest of the
family (mostly under 5) support him.
The
running of the farm is complex.
It
goes from the production of forage and seeds to feed the animals
in the cold period of the year, to the packaging and selling of
meat, going through different tasks, sometimes depending from
many variables as the weather, the seasoning…
